Do you remember when they told you:

You are the most important person to me
When your brother graduated
When your first child was born
When your puppy or kitten arrived
When you said Happy New Year
When someone asked you to be their partner
When they congratulated you on your birthday
When they hugged you while your heart was broken
When you cried over the loss of a loved one
When you broke your own record
When you met your best friend
When you decided to believe in yourself and realized you were capable of so much more than you thought at that time
When you proposed and they said yes
When someone broke up with you and you had to keep going
When your parents wished you Merry Christmas
When someone said they understood you and learned to respect your space because they recognized you as a valuable person or a work in progress
When you had that first kiss
There are so many moments worth remembering, and yet I’m amazed by how little value is given to emotions and feelings—or better yet, emotional intelligence—in our daily lives, even though emotions are often the first thing people refer to when describing meaningful events. Still, they’re frequently overlooked in many areas.
Emotional Quotient (EQ) is a measure of a person's ability to recognize, understand, manage, and appropriately express their own emotions, as well as perceive and respond to the emotions of others. Unlike Intelligence Quotient (IQ), which evaluates cognitive abilities, EQ focuses on emotional intelligence, which is essential for building healthy relationships, making conscious decisions, and effectively adapting to social and professional environments.
And you—with the technical knowledge revolution brought by artificial intelligence—do you remember the last time you truly felt something for someone?
